Our road trip ideas 🚍
Treat yourself to a getaway in the great outdoors among vineyards, half-timbered houses and gourmet stops…
Heading east: in Alsace, take your time exploring the half-timbered villages, vineyards and blue lines of the Vosges mountains. Onlycamp campsites in Alsace, open most of the year, are a simple and flexible starting point for exploring the region by van, motorhome or tent. In Wasselonne, 30 minutes from Strasbourg, Camping de l’Orée d’Alsace offers the perfect balance between nature and city breaks (bus nearby), with the added bonus of Kronthal for climbing and great ideas for hikes or bike rides along the Wine Route. In the evening, you can return to your peaceful pitch and enjoy a friendly atmosphere! At the Onlycamp du Haut-Koenigsbourg campsite, you’ll be high up as soon as you arrive, between the Wine Route, the Route des Crêtes and the great landscapes of Alsace. A stone’s throw away, the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg overlooks the plain, followed by encounters with nature at the Volerie des Aigles and the Montagne des Singes. All around, the Ballons des Vosges invite you to escape to lakes, forests and beautiful wildlife viewing. In the evening, simply return to your pitch, in a tent or camper van, to sleep peacefully, lulled by the mountain air. Discovering Alsace also means looking up… and taking your time. From the Onlycamp Vauban campsite in Neuf-Brisach, explore the star-shaped fortified city designed by Vauban, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before strolling through Colmar, with its half-timbered houses and reflections of Little Venice. And to extend your outdoor getaway, head for the Wine Route by bike, with a stop in Eguisheim, with its charming narrow streets and passionate winegrowers.

Stroll through the half-timbered streets of the villages along the Wine Route, treat yourself to a day in Strasbourg (river boat trip, visit to Notre-Dame Cathedral, Planetarium, etc.) or Colmar to see the canals and flower-bedecked houses, then change pace in the Vosges to walk in the forest and enjoy the views. For children, head for outdoor activities that will make their eyes light up, such as the Volerie des Aigles eagle park or the Montagne des Singes monkey park in Kintzheim, to greet the animals and enjoy a moment suspended in time.
