Our road trip ideas 🚍
An adventure along the water, an epic journey through the Renaissance and the Châteaux of the Loire Valley, and a gastronomic and nature getaway.
The Loire Valley is the perfect destination for combining fresh air and beautiful cultural discoveries along the river. In the area around Tours and Touraine region, admire the unmissable Loire Valley castles: true jewels of the Renaissance (Chenonceau, Villandry, Amboise, etc.), surrounded by parks, gardens and forests where you may even encounter deer. In summer, history comes to life with events and sound and light shows that transport young and old alike back to the era of the Kings of France. But the Loire Valley also has a cycling history! Hop on your bike and set off on the famous Loire à Vélo cycle route: a pleasant and refreshing nature trail between the banks of the Loire, unspoilt countryside, pretty villages full of character and the vineyards of the Loire Valley. And for peace of mind, several of our campsites are ‘Accueil Vélo’ certified and located directly on the route: serenity guaranteed! If you extend your stay to Anjou by heading up towards Nantes, you will also discover a natural haven of vineyards and magnificent châteaux. For curious motor racing fans, the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit in Sarthe is a must-see! Now in Loir-et-Cher, we meet up at Beauval ZooParc for an immersive experience with wildlife and the famous giant pandas. Not to mention the unmissable Château de Chambord, impeccably preserved over the centuries, and its magnificent forest estate. For true nature lovers, we’ll meet up for an authentic nature getaway in Sologne, a stone’s throw from Berry, among forests, pine groves and ‘a thousand’ ponds, where people come above all to disconnect. But what would the Loire Valley be without its famous AOC vineyards? It’s the perfect getaway combining nature and fine dining. Here, we take our time: we visit the cellars and enjoy a glass of wine at the end (in moderation). In Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé and Vouvray, each terroir has its own character… When it comes to family activities, there’s no room for boredom! Hiking, fishing, canoeing, leisure parks… The choice is yours!
