The Val Joyeux campsite in Château la Vallière is located near the lake on the road to Bourgueil and Chinon, just outside the village. This small town, surrounded by a forest of centuries-old oaks, offers tourists a colourful, peaceful stay in a natural setting that allows them to discover the TOURAINE region. It is the ideal stopover to discover the castles of the Loire Valley such as Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau, Langeais, Ussé, Chinon, Saumur, Gizeux, … It is the ideal place to stop and discover the Zoo of La Flèche, the DUFRESNE Museum, the Caves of Savonnières, the Steam Train of Rillé; the wine cellars (Bourgueil, Chinon, Vouvray…). It is above all a place for family relaxation, with beaches, swimming, fishing, walks, hikes, bike rides (the Loire à Vélo is very close).

It’s the campsite in a rural environment with all shops and services nearby.

Easy to access, these camping sites are located in a beautiful natural setting and welcome caravans, motor homes and tents. With or without electricity.

Cycling (links with the Loire à Vélo and the Loir Valley), tennis.


The beach of the Val Joyeux Lake (less than 200 metres on foot from the campsite with direct access) offers supervised swimming in July/August (1.30-7pm) and orienteering courses of different levels. Free entertainment is also offered on Mondays and Thursdays (July/August) as well as a refreshment bar by the lake.


Proximity to several Loire Valley castles: Château d’Azay-le-Rideau at 40 km, Château de Villandry at 36 km, Château de Langeais at 30 km, Château d’Ussé at 45 km, Château de Luynes at 30 km (closed to visits), Château du Lude at 17.4 km, Château de Champchevrier at 15.2 km, Château de Marcilly-sur-Maulne at 9 km, Château de Gizeux at 21 km – proximity to many sites and visits not to be missed in Touraine and the Loire Valley: Troglodytic Valley of Goupillères, Tourist Train of Rillé, Maurice Dufresne Museum, Apothecary of Baugé, Petrifying Caves of Savonnières, the famous Zoo of La Flèche, Wine cellars of Bourgueil, Roman Park and Monument of Cinq Marc, Museum of Savignéen.

How to find us?

If you are coming from the A11 freeway from Paris, follow the A10, A11 and A28/E502 towards D305 at Montval-sur-Loire. Take exit 26 and leave the A28/E502.
Continue on the D305 towards Château-la-Vallière.

If you are coming from Tours, take the D37 to La Riche. Continue towards Château-la-Vallière then follow D959 and D749 towards the campsite.

If you take the train, you can stop at the Tours train station and take the bus Line R – Halte Routière to the stop Château-la-Vallière – Place d’Armes

Coming from Tours, the journey to Château-la-Vallière is 44.7 km (2h35), it will take you along the North bank of the Loire after Tours, then pass by Saint-Roch, Pernay, Souvigné and arrive at Château-la-Vallière.
